Independent build studio

Software built for one client. Yours.

Every site and application I take on is written from a blank file against your requirements. No themes, no page builders, no shared codebase inherited from someone else's project.

Currently taking on projects starting within the next four weeks.

Fixed quotes
Priced before work starts, held unless scope changes.
Direct access
You talk to the person writing the code, start to finish.
You own it
Code in your repository, on your accounts, at handover.
Tested properly
End to end tests across real browsers before launch.

What I take on

Most projects touch several of these. The scope is set once I understand the problem, not before.

  • Bespoke web & app builds

Marketing sites, internal tools, customer portals and full applications. Architected around what the product actually has to do, then written to be maintainable long after launch.

  • API integrations

Connecting your stack to payment processors, CRMs, booking systems and anything with a documented endpoint. Includes the retry logic, error handling and rate limiting most integrations skip.

  • Webhook integrations

Event driven plumbing between services, with signature verification, idempotent handlers and replay protection so a duplicate delivery never charges a customer twice.

  • Domain setup & configuration

Registration, DNS, SSL, redirects and CDN configuration. Handled end to end so you are never left reading a registrar's help centre at eleven at night.

  • Bespoke email setup

Professional mailboxes on your own domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured properly so your mail reaches inboxes rather than spam folders.

  • Algorithmic & model builds

Pricing engines, scoring systems, matching logic, forecasting and simulation. Built to be tested and inspected, so you can trust the numbers coming out of it.

  • Analytical models & dashboards

Turning the data you already hold into something you would act on. Pipelines, aggregation and interfaces designed around the decisions they need to support.

  • End to end testing

Automated tests that drive the real interface the way a customer would — signing up, paying, submitting the form on a phone. Regressions get caught before your users find them, not after.

  • One to one direct support

You deal with the person who wrote the code. No ticket queues, no account managers relaying messages, no waiting three days for a one line answer.

How it works

How a project actually runs

Six stages from first message to long after launch. You are never guessing what is happening or waiting on an update that does not come.

  1. Pick a starting point and get in touch

Choose whichever package looks closest and send me a message. If none of them fit, say so — the tiers are a starting point for the conversation, not a menu you have to order from.

  2. We talk through what you actually need

A proper conversation about the problem, your customers and the constraints. This is where I push back, ask the awkward questions, and usually suggest two or three things worth adding that you had not considered. You leave with a written scope and a fixed price.

  3. The build starts, and you see it happening

Work begins on a live preview link you can open any time. I check in as I go, flag decisions worth your input rather than guessing, and come to you with options when there is a better way to do something than the one we agreed.

  4. Design reviews at every meaningful stage

You review real screens, on your own devices, before anything is locked in. Spacing, wording, the behaviour of a form on a bad connection — the details most builds skip are the ones I want your eyes on.

  5. Final product, properly finished

End to end tests run green across browsers and screen sizes, performance tuned, search ready, domain and email live. Handed over documented, in your repository, on your accounts. Nothing held hostage.

  6. Continued support, directly from me

After launch you still have my number. Fixes, changes, new ideas as the business grows — you speak to the person who wrote it, not a queue. Most of my work comes from clients coming back.

Where projects start

Prices are starting points, not estimates. You get a fixed quote after we have talked through the requirement, and it does not move unless the scope does.
